All packages include boarding, food and training. Our curriculum consists of a one-on-one consultation between handler and dog to produce a tailor-made program specifically designed for you.
Right Start for Puppies.
This is a socialization program for pups 2 - 6 months old. They'll get lots of exposure to positive environments with other dogs, people and children. It produces confident dogs that are ready to tackle Basic Gundog work.
Gundog Fundamentals.
These are the basic skills required of the hunting retriever with emphasis on obedience for a dog that is a pleasure to spend time in a blind with whether the action is slow or fast. Nobody likes an undisciplined dog in the boat or blind. Additionally, they will receive lots of training on marked retrieves, introduction to gunfire, real birds, decoys, and hunting blinds. Honoring other dogs working will also be a part of this process.

Advanced Gundog
During this training, the bar is raised to master skills like lining on blind retrieves, casting to overs, backs and angle backs and longer distance marking for retrieving those long sailers that get out there while hunting.

Upland Training
This training consists of basic upland hunting skills like flushing/pointing, intro to multiple species of birds and gunfire. Whoa training and honoring another point will also be worked depending on the level the dog reaches before completion.

Versatility Training
Combo of Upland and Gundog Fundamentals for those who want to waterfowl and upland hunt with the same pup.

Our Story
By this point, dog training, conservation, and hunting had turned waterfowl into a year-round activity and we both gave up deer hunting altogether. Even during the peak of the KS rut when the woods were alive with fighting bucks and running does, we still talked about greenheads.
Pricing starts at $500 per session. Final pricing is determined after a thorough evaluation of the dog and handler. Sessions are 2-3 hours.
Our area of expertise lies in training gundogs. Our greatest pleasure is coaching other handlers and helping them push through training plateaus. These two pillars are the foundation of our Dog Training program.
